Sophomore Ravi Patel goes through the club code of conduct and dues on Oct. 31 in the Key Club office. Patel was a freshman class officer for Key Club in the 2024-25 school year and is currently on the executive board as service project chairman. “I joined Key Club because I wanted to give back to my community through volunteering,” said Patel.

On Nov. 6 senior Jia Wei “Jeff” Xu works on his Algebra 2 homework during SSRT in A311. Students who struggle with math homework signed up for their math teacher’s SSRT on Minga and received one on one help with a math tutor.

Alexander Van Tilburg (right) and Rishikesh Polu (left), debate club members and freshmen, participate in a short debate drill during debate practice in the media center on Nov. 11. The drill emphasized weighing, a concept where a speaker aims to convince the judge why one argument is better than another. Polu said, “I would like to learn more about weighing so I can perform better at tournaments.”

CHS students are dismissed from school on Nov. 12. Most students use the main hallway to reach the student parking lot and the bus parking near Door 17 and 21.

Sophomores Ashwin Krishnan and Justin Li code and collaborate together in class at Carmel High School on Nov. 10. Their teamwork led to the successful completion of a fully functioning LLM AI model that they built solely by themselves.

College and Career Resources Center programming coordinator Melinda Stephan works on her computer in the College and Career Resources Center (CCRC) on Nov. 18. As deadlines for college applications have rolled around, many students visited the CCRC for assistance and questions.

Juniors Lily Jacobsen (left) and Mackenzie White (right) do free-form crochet on Nov. 18 during Crochet Club after school. After gathering the necessary yarn, they continued to craft. “I love crocheting and I want other people to experience the same joy as I do,” said Jacobsen.

Junior Ekta Gupta bikes on Nov. 27 as part of the women’s tennis team conditioning program. The team prepared for their spring season with twice a week conditioning. “We just started but I love it [conditioning],” said Gupta. “It allows me to bond with my teammates and get in the best physical shape for the season at the same time.”

Senior Ethan Martin works on problems on a whiteboard with his group during AP Calculus AB on Dec. 4. Students had prepared for their upcoming quiz and collaborated to review material from the previous lesson.

On Dec. 15 in the afternoon, CHS students walk toward their buses exiting from Door 21. Many students dress up because of the cold winter weather.

Senior Avery Dover draws two dancers in red on Oct. 30 at the Carmel Clay Public Library. The Teen Artist in Residence program allowed access to students for fully funded art supplies.

But the best thing you can do is just have fun with friends while senior year lasts,” said Justin.

Carmel High School students head towards their buses to get home for fall break on Oct. 3. Carmel High School’s fall break was the week of Oct. 5, and allowed students and staff to take time off from school.

Junior Navisha Singhal works on her computer in her Computer Science A class in room F104 on Oct. 15. Students in the computer science classes learned programming languages such as Java and JavaScript.

For several class periods, culinary students had been learning about the role of yeast in baking bread. “I joined culinary so I could learn how to bake for my friends,” Torre said.

After finishing preparations, they introduced the club’s purpose to members. “I just think it’s important to spread awareness about heart disease because it’s the number one cause of death in the United States,” said Tom.

Construction men work on Carmel High School’s natatorium on Oct. 1 for the World Aquatics Swimming World Cup 2025. The competition is set to be held in Carmel from Oct. 10-12. Carmel is the first leg of the race, followed by Illinois and Toronto.

A CHS student cuts out paper to make a paper lantern at the CHS Media Center on Oct. 24. Members of the A5 club at CHS celebrated the mid-autumn festival with music and mooncakes.

Juniors Arnav Samuel and Kaarthik Nagarathanim read How to Love: A Guide to Feelings & Relationships for Everyone by Alex Norris at the Carmel Clay Public Library on Dec. 9. “Both people in a relationship are trying to make an effort to love more than the other, sort of like a competition,” Samuel said. Samuel and Nagarathanim both read the book to learn more about human connection and how they can apply those lessons to their relationships.
